at the gate to reality
stands the Guardian

fearsome
demonised
hated

because he makes us remember
the laws of the world

are they heavy chains around our necks?
the fact that every cause has an effect?
every deed has a result?
every greedy dumbness will cause suffering?

We are not free

do what thou wilt is NOT the whole of the law

The Guardian stands at the Gate to reality
he sees through every mask.
men and women,
dressed up as kings and queens,
shrouded by their wealth,
disguised as popes and presidents
how they hate him!

The guardian is fearsome
to those who live a lie

but he will smile
he will be beautiful
and let all people pass
who are true
about themselves
